Access to capital markets for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) just got easier.
Practicing company secretaries’ can now issue compliance certificate to SMEs to get listed in dedicated platforms set up by stock exchanges.
The company secretaries’ institute has come up with a format of the compliance certificate to be issued by a practising company secretary, its President, S.N. Ananthasubramanian, said.
A guidance note has also been issued for the use of company secretaries.
A compliance certificate on adherence to the SEBI Act, Securities Contracts (Regulations) Act is a critical input that goes into decision-making of stock exchanges for allowing a SME to list.
Both the BSE and the NSE had in 2012 set up dedicated platforms for SMEs.
