The rupee weakened to 55.78 against the dollar on Tuesday in the afternoon session after opening at 55.65.
The sustained gain of the American currency against the world’s major currencies and the concerns on current account deficit has led to the fall of the rupee.
The intra-day range for the rupee is seen at 55.40-55.90 levels.
Call rates and G-Secs
The inter-bank call money rates remained flat at 7.30 per cent.
The 8.15 per cent government security (G-Sec), which matures in 2022, opened at Rs 105.31 from the previous close of Rs 105.1. Yields lowered to 7.33 per cent from 7.34 per cent.
In the intra-day session, 8.15 per cent government security which matures in 2022 was trading at 105.33 at 7.33 per cent.
