Gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange opened marginally higher at Rs 29,950 per 10 grams against the previous close of Rs 29,928.
The Indian markets were taking cues from a firm trend in the international markets.
MCX gold for October delivery may trade in a range of Rs 29,950 to Rs 30,060.
In Comex, gold was trading at $1,610 troy ounce.
