Gold futures on MCX opened higher at Rs 29,374 per 10 grams on Monday against the previous close of Rs 29,345. It made a high of Rs 29,450 and low of Rs 29,312. It was up 0.01 per cent at Rs 29,348 at 1.14 p.m.
In Comex, the yellow metal for April delivery was up by $5 at $1,582 a troy ounce at 1.14 pm.
PTI reports : Marketmen said fresh positions built-up by speculators in line with a global trend, mainly led to a rise in gold futures prices.
Globally, the yellow metal in Singapore was trading higher at $1,581.39 an ounce in early trade today against $1,578.80 in the previous session.
