Taking weak cues from overseas markets, silver prices fell Rs 70 to Rs 34,424 per kg at the futures trade today as participants cut down their bets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month March next year was trading lower by Rs 70 or 0.20 per cent to Rs 34,424 per kg in a business turnover of 41 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in December declined by Rs 60 or 0.18 per cent to Rs 33,736 per kg in a business volume of 1,190 lots.
In the international market, silver fell 0.11 per cent to USD 14.24 an ounce in Singapore today.
Traders said the fall in silver prices at the futures trade was largely in step with a weak trend in precious metals in global markets.
