At 12.25 p.m., on Wednesday, the Sensex was up by 121.73 points at 15,986.59. The Nifty too was 47.95 points up at 4,820.10.
After a precipitous fall yesterday following Moody's downgrade of SBI, the stock markets opened in positive territory todya, though there was no respite for the beleaguered SBI.
The trading also was very volatile and the BSE Sensex, which was up by about 75 points in 15 minutes of trading, is up just by about 27 points at 9.55 am with the Sensex at 15892 .
Some of the gainers today were Bajaj Auto, HDFC, L&T which made significant gains to trade around Rs 1353 (+ Rs 16.75), Infy and Maruti .
But SBI had lost about Rs 46.70 to trade at Rs 1740 and ICICI Bank was trading around Rs 777, losing about Rs 24.
