Andhra Bank’s scrip surged 5.13 per cent immediately after opening of trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Thursday.
The scrip is trading at Rs 99.45 on Thursday after opening for trade at Rs 94.80.
According to an analyst, the possibility of Andhra Bank being merged with a stronger bank has influenced the investor perceptions about the bank.
