Axis Bank came off its morning highs by the close of trading on the BSE on Thursday. The share closed the session at Rs 567.85, up 2.70 per cent on Wednesday’s close at Rs 552.90.
BHEL steamed up 2.13 per cent to quote at Rs 237.20. The share ended the overnight session at Rs 232.25.
Vedanta (earlier Sesa Sterlite) moved up further to hold gains of 1.38 per cent at Rs 210 as against its overnight close at Rs 207.15.
Reliance Industries also traded firm to hold gains of 1.36 per cent at Rs 862.85. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 851.25.
Cipla extended its morning gains to quote at Rs 637.05. This represented a 1.22 per cent gain on its overnight close at Rs 629.35.
