Capital goods stocks vaulted on the BSE today with the index emerging the biggest gainer among the sectoral indices gaining about 360 points.
L&T, which has more than 54 per cent weight in the index, was the biggest gainer in terms of value, up by Rs 57.60 to close at Rs 1,348. BEML surged to Rs 688.70, a gain of Rs 27.45, BEL was up by Rs 25 to close at Rs 1,587.70 and Thermax ended at Rs 487.85, a gain of Rs 18.90 and SKF was up by Rs 21.60 at Rs 666.60.
Havells India, AIA Engineering, Alstom Projects and Siemens made modest gains.
