Narayana Hrudayalaya has wound up its subsidiary in Malaysia. Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospitals Malaysia Sdn Bhd was registered as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Narayana Hrudayalaya in 2011 to set up and operate cardiac facilities in Malaysia. However, NHL had decided to terminate the project at its initial stages in FY2014-15 due to various changes in the regulatory framework of Malaysia that made the project unviable. The subsidiary had commenced the process of Members' Voluntary Winding-up in 2017 as per the extant provisions of Malaysian company law and completed the process on April 24. The investment in the subsidiary repatriated on liquidation to Narayana Hrudayalaya is MYR 9,56,360 (equivalent ₹1.487 crore). The stock of Narayana Hrudayalaya slipped 1.15 per cent at ₹269.65 on the NSE, while it gained 0.97 per cent at ₹270.70 on the BSE.
