Shares of Tata Global Beverages Ltd today surged over 5 per cent after the company’s consolidated net profit rose 54.69 per cent for the second quarter ended September 30, 2012.
Boosted by the strong results, the shares opened on a robust note and further gained 5.39 per cent to Rs 158.35 on the BSE. On the NSE, the stock rose 5.56 per cent to Rs 158.50.
Tata Global Beverages had yesterday said its consolidated net profit rose 54.69 per cent to Rs 119.04 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2012 on improved operating performance and robust sales in the coffee business.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 76.95 crore during the corresponding period previous fiscal.
Net sales rose to Rs 1,842.57 crore from Rs 1,612.03 crore.
