Mangalore—headquartered Corporation Bank, a premier public sector bank, is in the process of rolling out special and exclusive services for senior citizens.

“Though it is in the conceptual stage as of now, we are confident the bank will roll out certain special services for senior citizens shortly,” Mr Narendra Singh, the Executive Director of the bank, told PTI.

He said the bank registered Rs 2.03 lakh crore worth of business in 2010 and is targeting Rs 2.65 lakh crore in business this year, with a growth target of 25 per cent for credit and 33 per cent for its deposit portfolio.

Currently, the bank has 1,362 branches and plans to add 200 branches every year over the next few years. The bank also has 1,200 ATMs and proposes to add 2,000 ATMs this fiscal.

Mr Singh said the bank has representative offices in Dubai and Hong Kong and is now eyeing under—developed countries like Sri Lanka, Zambia and a few more South African countries. The bank will undertake a systematic survey in these countries and solicit the required approval from the RBI and other authorities, he said.

Mr Singh said that for stringent monitoring and control, the bank has created 12 new zonal offices in addition to the existing 19. The bank’s 31st zonal office was formally inaugurated here on Wednesday.
