Apollo Munich Health Insurance, a standalone health insurer, has launched Dengue Care, the country’s first exclusive over-the-counter health insurance policy to cover dengue related expenses.
Launched in the presence of legendary cricketer Sourav Ganguly — who is the company’s brand advocate, Dengue Care is focused only on dengue treatment and covers both hospitalisation and outpatient treatment.
It is available at a very affordable one-time premium of ₹ 444, which translates into a daily premium of ₹ 1.20 and provides ₹ 50,000 inpatient and ₹ 10,000 Out Patient Department (OPD) coverage.
Antony Jacob, CEO, Apollo Munich Health Insurance, said the launch of the Dengue Care policy was in keeping “with the company’s DNA to innovate and create uncomplicated products that are truly instrumental in fulfilling the needs of the consumer”.
As the incidence of dengue cases is growing annually across the country, Dengue Care is poised to help people avail best-in class medical facilities to overcome dengue, and not worry about the medical expense it entails, he said.
