The United Forum of Banking Unions (UBFU), representing employees of public and private sector banks, has decided to observe a one-day nationwide strike on December 18.
The UBFU is demanding a wage revision and is protesting against the proposed banking reforms – that seeks to grant licences to foreign banks.
According to the Unions, the entry of foreign banks will make the sector unviable thereby paving way for takeovers.
