J Packirisamy has assumed charge as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
He has been elevated from deputy managing director, mid corporate group, State Bank of India (SBI).
Packirisamy joined SBI in 1984 as Probationary Officer. During his tenure in the bank he had handled various assignments including chief executive officer – Frankfurt branch, according to a release.
