Our Bureau In further trouble for Yes Bank, former State Bank of India Chairman OP Bhatt on Thursday resigned from the search and selection committee set upto identify a new Managing Director and CEO.
“OP Bhatt has tendered his resignation from his duties as an External Expert of the ‘Search and Selection Committee’ with immediate effect citing that there may be a potential conflict of interest,” Yes Bank said in a regulatory filing on Thursday.
The Bank had on October 5 appointed Bhatt as an external expert on the committee.
However, the lender said it will complete the process of appointing a successor to Rana Kapoor within the timeline given by the Reserve Bank of India. The RBI has asked Kapoor to step down after January 31, 2019.
