Paytm has revamped its app and has made it more user-friendly and intuitive.

In a statement, Paytm said it had made sending money easier by reducing the number of steps, adding more options for funding sources, optimising the back-end and adding features such as ‘Recents’. Paytm said this would help users make quicker payments.

Home Screen

The home screen has been redesigned to make it simpler and allow the user to focus on some of the most used Paytm features.

The home screen will show relevant categories upfront based on the user's usage. The rest will be under the 'View All' button below the second row. Paytm said this would help users navigate their way faster on the home screen.

When users use any service not displayed on the home screen, the app would automatically place the feature on the front. Users can make one-touch quick payments from the Home Screen under the ‘Recent Payments’ section. It carries all recent payments the user has made, be it at stores or money transfers to friends.

Money Transfer

Users will be able to send money from any bank account to any bank account without any fee. Users can also add beneficiaries for making faster repeat payments, the statement said. Money can be transferred to bank account beneficiaries, UPI addresses, Aadhaar numbers or to any mobile directly.

The New Passbook

Your Passbook feature too has been revamped and allows users to see a summary of all accounts on Paytm - Savings Account, Fixed Deposit, UPI, Wallet, Food Wallet, Gift Wallet etc.

Profile Section

The profile section has a new user profile QR code. It allows someone to send users money or get themselves added to contacts and start a chat. Users can even save this QR Code to gallery. The upgraded Paytm Scanner would now be able to show the user's recent scans upfront — making repeat payments easier.

Kiran Vasireddy, COO, Paytm, said, “We are overwhelmed with our users’ trust in us and we will continue expanding our operations to every nook and corner of the country. This year, we are aiming for an exponential growth in money transfer transactions by transforming payments done in the unorganised sector - this will include freelancers, tuition fee, house rent, salaries of unorganised workforce and others into direct bank transfers using the Paytm app.”
