Is India ready for the AI revolution? In the ‘Breakfast with businessline’ conversation on Thursday, businessline’s Editor Raghuvir Srinivasan speaks to S Krishnan, Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, on the crucial question of AI regulation.
S Krishnan speaks about the government’s current stance that aims to balance the need for innovation with potential risks such as deepfakes, privacy concerns, and job displacement. He points out that existing legal frameworks are adequate to address problem areas such as deepfakes but that we may have to sharpen technology tools to detect problems quicker.
