In Karnataka, about 45.52 lakh people have enrolled under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), 19.84 lakh people under under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyothi Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and 0.18 lakh people enrolled under Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
The State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) on behalf of all banks in the State and insurance companies said: “We observe that there is still a majority of eligible people/savings bank account holders who are yet to enroll under the three – PMSBY, PMJJBY and APY schemes. Hence, we once again appeal to enroll themselves at the earliest and avail the insurance/pension benefits.”
To facilitate enrolment under PMSBY and PMJJBY schemes, SLBC said the deadline has been extended up to August 2015 and APY scheme up to December 2015.
People are requested to note the toll free number of SLBC (180042597777) and may contact in case of necessity, the committee said.
