About 257 meetings out of 280 week-long public meetings held by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) voted in favour of government formation in Delhi with Congress support, an AAP release said here on Monday. Only 23 Jan Sabhas voted in the negative.

Of the 2,65,966 valid responses for Delhi received via emails, SMS, phone calls and online voting, 1,97,086 or 74 per cent, were in favour of government formation, while 68,880 were against it, the release added.

The AAP political affairs committee, which met for about two hours on Monday and analysed the results of the referendum, finally decided to go ahead with government formation.

“This is a historic beginning to ushering in a change in the country’s poiltics,” the AAP release said.
