Honda Cars India (HCIL) has said it will commence the pre-launch bookings for the all-new 10th Generation Civic from Friday, with a booking amount of ₹31,000.

The pre-launch booking can be made at all authorised Honda dealerships across the country, the company said, adding that the Civic will be launched on March 7. According to senior company officials, the all new Civic is expected to be priced between ₹18 lakh and ₹24 lakh, competing against the likes of Hyundai Elantra, Skoda Octavia and Toyota Corolla Altis.

Iconic brand

“Civic is an iconic brand with a rich legacy of 10 generations and is currently our largest selling model globally. We are excited to bring the latest 10th Generation all-new Civic to the Indian market," Rajesh Goel, Senior Vice-President and Director, Marketing & Sales, HCIL, said.

The Civic is coming to the Indian market after a gap of six years. Honda had sold 55,000 units of the Civic between 2006 and 2013 in India.

The Civic will be launched in both petrol and diesel powertrains — the 1.8L i-VTEC petrol engine — and the 1.6L i-DTEC turbo diesel engine.

The Civic diesel is being introduced for the first time in India from the Honda Earth Dreams Technology series mated to a six-speed manual transmission offering best in segment fuel efficiency, HCIL said.
