Top executives of industrial organisations namely, Hindalco, L & T, Thermax, Tata Advanced Materials Limited and Tube Investments India are expected to interact with BITS Pilani's administrators, faculty and students on Friday.
The intent of the day long `first industry day’ event is to deepen University-Industry linkages and collaborations. It will not be a one-off event but is going to be a repeated at the Institute's four campuses, according to V S Rao, Director of the Hyderabad Campus.
Interactions, panel discussions, industry engagement experiences will form part of the event. BITS Pilani has been increasingly drawing industry support for its research projects. The Hyderabad campus also has a business incubator.
The outcome of these interactions are aimed to bring practice based learning to class rooms, industry internships and enhanced practice school opportunities, and opportunities for BITS Pilani faculty and students of working on challenging industrial problems in the form of projects, said G Sundar, Director, off campus programmes & industry engagement.
