Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute (GERMI), Gandhinagar has ventured into Distance Learning through online short – term e-course in Environmental Engineering. A website www. germi-env-ecourses.org has been created for the purpose. The course, developed under the leadership of Dr. N. S. Varandani, has been divided into 3 modules with duration of each module being 6 months.
The programme is designed to provide brief description of the Wastewater treatment and step-by-step design of different units. Dr. B. K. Rastogi, Director General of ISR, has launched E – Learning portal. The applications are invited from 1st April 2014 and the course scheduled from 1st May 2014. GERMI intends to reach out to the masses though Internet as it provides easy access, flexibility, review course material at one’s speed and time and be a part of an electronic community.
