In the elections to four State Assemblies, which were held together with the Lok Sabha polls, the BJP-led NDA is winning only Arunanchal Pradesh.

In Odisha, the Biju Janata Dal government is getting a fifth term while in Andhra Pradesh, the YSR Congress Party of Jagan Mohan Reddy has grabbed power with a huge majority. In Sikkim, the Opposition Sikkim Krantikari Morcha and ruling Sikkim Democratic Front are leading in 16 seats each out of the total 32.

In Arunachal Pradesh, trends of 45 out of the 60 constituencies were available at the time of going to press. The BJP was leading in 30 while the Congress was leading in three. NDA ally Janata Dal (United) was leading in seven constituencies. The National People’s Party was leading in two and People’s Party of Arunachal in one seat. Chief Minister Pema Khandu is set to continue in the post.

In Odisha, the BJD was leading in 115 out of the 146 constituencies. Chief Minister Navin Patnaik will get a fifth term with almost the same number of seats as in 2014. The BJP is likely to double its presence in the Assembly with 20 seats. The Congress was leading in nine seats, against 16 in 2014. The CPI(M) is retaining its lone seat in the State.

In Andhra Pradesh, Reddy is tipped to become the Chief Minister with the YSRCP leading in 149 out of the 175 seats. Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP was leading in 25 seats while Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena Party was leading in just one seat.
