Income rax assesses will get 15 more days to file their income tax returns as the Finance Ministry has decided to extend the due date for people affected by floods.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Income Tax department said that in view of the disruption caused by severe floods in Kerala, CBDT had extended the date for filing income tax returns from August 31 to September 15 for all assessees in Kerala.
The department had earlier extended the date to August 31 from July 31 for all. However, there is no change, as of now, in the last date for individuals and companies whose accounts have to be audited and that is September 30.
