The Maharashtra government has decided to fill up 36,000 positions in the State bureaucracy in the current year. The decision to fill up the positions was taken at the State Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office said.
Out of the total recruits, 11,005 will be absorbed by the Rural Development Department and 10,568 by Public Health. The Home Department will get 7,111 recruits in various capacities. Agriculture Department will get 2,572 recruits and Animal Husbandry 1,047.
The recruitment drive was part of an effort to enhance the quality of life of farmers and to provide services to the rural population. In the current year, 36,000 recruitments will be made while another 36,000 will be recrutied in 2019. The recruits will help strengthen the State’s rural infrastructure. Priority will be given to positions in Agriculture and Rural Development Department.
