The 20th annual convocation at Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) witnessed 572 students receiving their diplomas and fellowships on Saturday.
The event marked the successful completion of the academic programme and 378 students of the PGP class of 2018 got awarded the Post Graduate Diploma in Management. Seven students completed the doctoral programme and 187 completed the executive post-graduate programme in management.
IIMK gold medals for scholastic performance were awarded to Tulsiani Avijeet Mahendrakumar, Ayush Gupta and Manju Murali of the PGP batch. The IIMK gold medal for all-round performance was awarded to Shruti Kapur of PGP. The IIMK gold medal for the scholastic performance for EPGP Kozhikode was awarded to Vineeth Dubey and IIMK gold medal for scholastic performance EPGP (Kochi Campus) was awarded to G Gopikrishnan.
Chief Guest Janmejaya Kumar Sinha, Chairman (Asia-Pacific), Boston Consulting Group urged the management graduates to pursue their profession in such a way that it could be a message to others.
In his maiden address as the Chairman of the institute, A Vellayan, executive chairman of Murugappa group, sought the cooperation of all stakeholders in pursuing his vision of making IIM-K one among the top three IIMs in the next 3-5 years.
He also talked about the importance of commitment to society and contributing towards making the world a better place to live.
Kulbhushan Balooni, Director-in-charge, spoke about the significant contributions made by the newly set-up business incubator and entrepreneurship development centre “IIMK Live” in fostering entrepreneurship and creating new job opportunities.
