The National Democratic Alliance kick-started its election campaign for the upcoming Bihar elections on Saturday with Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaking at a rally in Muzaffarpur.

To counter a united Opposition, Modi's focus was on the pending development works in the State. He said only an NDA Government can help the State in the path for development. He said the State needs to freed from the fear of jungle raj.

He told the people that his Government will fulfill all the promises within 60 months. "We do not run away from responsibilities," Modi said.

Accusing the State Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, of breaking the development process in Bihar by going away from the NDA, he said Kumar is now leading Bihar to jungle raj. "This election is to decide the future of youth in Bihar, safety of women in Bihar and the development of the State," he said.

He said an NDA Government at both the Centre and States will help the State to develop. "You gave us an opportunity to work for you. Ministers from Bihar have taken up crucial responsibilities in the Union Government. If the State and Union Governments work together, huge transformation is possible," he added.

He has promised 24-hour electricity and other basic infrastructure to the State. He said the Centrally sponsored schemes will be used for the benefit of the State.
