The weather looks just right for the launch of India’s Mars mission (Mangalyaan)later this afternoon.
It’s going to be slightly cloudy out there due to the presence of a trough of lower pressure in the vicinity. The trough lay extended from southwest Bay of Bengal to west-central Bay of Bengal this morning.
But otherwise the weather is clear for the launch proposed for 2.38 p.m. from the Sriharikota spaceport off coastal Andhra Pradesh.
The countdown is progressing smoothly, according to an ISRO update.
