The annual property expo of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association of India, Visakhapatnam chapter, is to be organised at Andhra University Engineering College Grounds for three days from Saturday. It is the fourth show of the chapter and around 100 developers will showcase 400 projects at the expo, CREDAI Visakhapatnam Chairman G.V.V.S. Narayana has said.

At a press conference along with chapter president P. Koteswara Rao, convener of the expo, V. Dharmender and other office-bearers, he said the annual exhibition had resulted in business of Rs 90 crore last year in spite of de-monetisation. This year business may cross Rs 250 crore. Apart from villas and apartments, the show comprises layouts, building materials and interiors.

Narayana said prospective customers had adopted a ‘wait and see’ approach after demonetisation but that phase was over. With prices of inputs such as steel and cement going up, there would not be any price correction now, he said. Dharmender said in addition to real estate, an automobile and super bike pavilion would be an added attraction.

Around a dozen banks will set up their counters to advise visitors on home loans and help customers take an informed decision. Koteswara Rao said foot-falls at the CREDAI expo had been increasing every year since 2014. While the first show attracted 14,000 visitors, it grew to 21,000 and 32,000 in subsequent years. This year the expo hoped to attract one lakh people.

During the exhibition, technical sessions on the industrial scenario and smart city development would be organised. Architecture students will also be presented the B.R. Raju Memorial Awards.

Ayyappa temple: The expo, which had put up a pandal similar to that in film Namo Venkatesaya last year, will now set up an Ayyappa temple at the venue with puja and bhajans during the three days.
