AAP offers ticket to UP IAS officer

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has offered a ticket to suspended IAS officer from Uttar Pradesh, Durga Shakti Nagpal, to fight against Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. “We appeal to her to come out of the system to fight it and are willing to back her for the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat (Yadav’s constituency in UP), said AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, at a press conference here. he 28-year IAS officer from Uttar Pradesh, who had been taking on the sand mafia in the State, was recently suspended by the Akhilesh Yadav Government, ostensibly for demolishing a wall that could have created communal tension. Kejriwal also took on the Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and said if voted to power, his party would set up a Delhi Jan Lokpal to undertake a fast-track probe into three alleged scams related to contracts for power, water and vehicle fitness certificates.
