To give a fillip to food processing industries in Mysore, National Mission of Food Processing (NMFP) is planning to hold an awareness programme on opportunities, incentives and concessions for the sector on August 31.
Mysore being home to Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL), a few MNCs such as Nestle and MSME manufacturing and processing units has been chosen as the venue to hold the meet.
NMFP has partnered district agricultural, horticulture departments, District Industries Centre and with Mysore Industries Association and Mysore District Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Association to organise the meet.
According to Suresh Kumar Jain, General Secretary, Mysore District Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Association, experts from CFTRI, DFRL, horticulture, industries and agricultural departments have been roped in to interact and brief the guidelines of National Mission of Food Processing, advances in technologies in processing of fruit, milk, pulses, and other food products, including availability of infrastructure and land usage.
Mysore district in-charge and Revenue Minister V Srinivas Prasad will inaugurate the event and officers from the Ministry of Food Processing and Karnataka Processed Agriculture Products Export Development Corporation will interact with the entrepreneurs.
