Prime Minister’s Jan Dhan Yojana aims to provide banking facilities to more people as only 32 per cent of the population is now under banking networks, said Federation of the Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FKCCI).
Welcoming the Yojana, S Sampathraman President, FKCCI, said the real objective of nationalisation of banks has come into force after 45 years of its proclamation.
The target of 7.5 crore new accounts by January 2015 is significant. He said such initiatives need to be extended to all sectors for overall growth of the economy.
