Sajix Incorporation, headquartered at Pleasanton (California) with a development centre here and established in 2006 by Prasada Rao Pyala, launched an online medical records (OMR) vault here on Thursday.

The founder, a native of Visakhapatnam, had earlier served as a senior Vice-President at SAP.

Introducing the product, Vice-President Arun Kharidehal said the mission of Sajix was to provide best-in-class information technology products for the global healthcare industry and pave the way for customer satisfaction by continuous improvement.

“As a part of our vision to leverage IT to deliver best healthcare to the public, we have created the iHelix software which is a recipient of ABL award of innovation in 2010. We have successfully implemented integrated healthcare solutions in physician’s practices and hospitals in the US, India, Nigeria, Albania and West Indies. We have now come up with this unique and revolutionary offering — iHelix Personal Health Record Portal called OMR Vault. This is a Web portal that will literally put an individual in charge of his or her health. Using this portal any individual can keep a complete track of all his vitals, critical medical reports, locate a doctor or pharmacy, order medicines online, take appointments with physicians, and become member of user groups,” he said.

Ramana Murthy, Chief Medical Officer of the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation, who inaugurated the product, said the general public should be made aware of the product and taught how to make use of it. The company should strive to make it affordable to the common man, he added.

Ramani, Secretary of the local branch of the Indian Medical Association, said the vault would be of great use not only to patients and the general public, but doctors and medical researchers as well. Visakhapatnam Information Technology Association President Peter said the company had invested a lot on the product and needed to be congratulated.
