The office of Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) was inaugurated here recently.
The sub-circle office based at Asansol has been relocated to keep a tab on import of ammonium nitrate from Visakhapatnam port and location of several industries needing regular inspection.
Chief Controller of Explosives RR Thomas, who inaugurated the office at Kirlampudi said the office would enforce the Central Government’s Rules-2012 on import of ammonium nitrate by ensuring proper licensing, bagging and numbering to prevent pilferage by terrorists.
