Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Chairman RK Tyagi has asked the Union Government to review the duty structure and reduce taxes to help the aviation industry.
Addressing the 65th annual general meeting of the Aeronautical Society of India, he appealed to Civil Aviation Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju to impress upon the Prime Minister the need to look into the issue.
He said that reduction of duties and taxes would help the domestic MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) industry. He said the aviation industry would require four lakh skilled human resources in the next five years. He wanted the Telangana Government and the society to help the industry in this regard.
