CII Mysore Zone partnered with Royal Mysore Walks to mark International Women’s Day in Mysore.
“History has always portrayed men, but Royal Mysore Walks offered a theme tour for the women where the tour was for women, by women and about women,” said Vidyashree Nagaraju of Royal Mysore Walks who led the walk.
The stories on the tour were about the contribution of women and how they have shaped society, history and a way of life.
The stories ranged from the woman link of Mysore who won a George Cross – one of the highest honours of England, the first woman graduate from the South of India who has a link to Mysore, or the Queens of Mysore, the roads that have a significance right from an Albert Victor of England to the Vani Vilasa of Mysore.
“Today’s walk comprised a mix of architecture, history, stories, the way of life giving a picture of the past, present and a link to the future,” said Preethi Anantha Narasimhan of Royal Mysore Walks.
