Using the extensive Mee-Seva (electronic delivery of public documents) network, the Andhra Pradesh Government will soon build a database of over 25 lakh students (Class 10 and above) in the State.
Revenue officials will carry out a door-to-door campaign across the State to collect the data, capturing information on caste, nativity, income (of parents), residence and date of birth.
“This will facilitate the officials to deliver the integrated Caste, Nativity and Date of birth certificates to the students as they apply for education courses and jobs. They can get these certificates at the Mee Seva centres,” N. Raghuveera Reddy, Minister for Revenue, has said.
While helping students get the certificates quickly, the move will drastically reduce the administrative work of the staff, allowing them to focus on departmental work.
