Chandigarh has emerged as India’s Happiest City and Delhi has emerged as India’s Happiest metro. According to a study commissioned by LG and conducted by IMRB International-LG Life’s Good Happiness Study, happiness has been found to be the most important value of life for Indians across the nation, compared to other sentiments like respect, trust, success or recognition.

Indians in the age group of 35-45 years are happier compared to the younger Indians aged 18-24. “While the importance of being happy is most for younger age groups, with 58 per cent aged 18-24 ranking happiness as their most important core value, it is the older people aged 35-45, with a Happiness Index of 103, who are happier as compared to the younger people,” the study said.

Chandigarh, Lucknow, Delhi, Chennai and Bengaluru were found to be the five happiest cities in India.
