Up-to-date Information & Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley and Minister of State Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore releasing the calendar for 2015, in New Delhi on Wednesday V SUDERSHAN
The Centre on Wednesday launched its official calendar for 2015 with the theme of Clean India Green India. The calendar was also launched digitally, as a mobile app.
The calendar features visuals portraying the Clean India theme across schools, hospitals, villages and railways, rejuvenation of the Ganga, renewable energy, preserving the Himalayas and wildlife conservation, among others.
Theme convergence Speaking to reporters here at the launch, Information & Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley said the calendar provides a platform to converge the two flagship schemes of the Centre — Swachh Bharat and Digital India.
While Swachh Bharat is a social programme and is reflected in the visuals, Digital India is a developmental programme, he said. The digital format represents their convergence, he added.
The mobile app will provide access to latest tweets from the Prime Minister’s Office, the YouTube feeds of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and press releases. It will also display all gazetted and restricted holidays and date-wise events.
Developed initially for the Android platform, it will be made available for other mobile platforms also in due course of time, said an official statement.
