IT firm CMC today said it has partnered with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to start a new initiative for training graduates in Jammu and Kashmir in IT skills.
CMC and NSDC have signed an agreement to launch ‘Udaan’ initiative in Jammu and Kashmir to train graduates in IT skills in areas of software engineering, software development, embedded systems and IT infrastructure management through CMC Job Enablement Training (JET) programme, CMC said in a filing to the BSE.
The selected youth will go for a three-four month full-time training programme in CMC Academy Centres, followed by a three-month on-the-job training, it added.
“We are confident that CMC’s joining the Udaan project would also encourage other leading corporate houses to get involved with this private sector led skilling initiative for empoweing youth in the state,” NSDC CEO and MD Dilip Chenoy said.
Udaan aims to provide skills and consequently employment to 8,000 youngsters from Jammu and Kashmir annually over a five-year period in key high growth sectors.
“CMC is committed to empowering the youth of India through specialised job enabling programmes, bridging the skill gap and making the youth employable across a wide variety of skill areas,” CMC MD and CEO R Ramanan said.
