At least three months ahead of the 51st convention of Computer Society of India (CSI) 2016, its members have started to network to make the event, which is being conducted for the first time in Coimbatore, an unforgettable one.

Scheduled for December 8, 9 and 10, 2016 under the theme “Digital Connectivity – Social Impact”, the convention, according to Anirbhan Basu, President, CSI aims to throw light on the digital transformation that is taking place around us.

“The larger purpose of the convention is to foster a society where digital connectivity is becoming the way of life; and the only way to harness inclusive growth is by harnessing digital technology to reach out to every single citizen of India.”

The theme aims to draw the attention of academia, corporates, researchers, government to the hugely anticipated expansion of digital connectivity, not look at it as a communication system but as a domain that can impact the economy and life style of every citizen, A K Nayak, Secretary, CSI said.

The society has in the meantime developed CSI 2016 mobile app for latest update of the event. “Both registered members and non-members can download the app and get updates about the workshops that are being organised, a peep into select case studies and lot more,” the Secretary said.

P R Rangasamy, Chair, Organising Committee, CSI 2016 said the proposed convention would help give a boost to Coimbatore – as the ideal IT destination
