Delhi Metro may be finding it hard to revise its fare upwards, but it has decided to increase parking charges. Parking charges in the 95 stations of Delhi Metro will see a hike with effect from March 1. The hike is the sharpest for car-owners, who will have to pay double for up to 12 hours.
Even scooter and motorbike owners will have to shell out almost double for parking up to 12 hours. The hike is minimal for cyclists.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has decided to increase the parking charges in accordance with the proposed hike in parking rates by different civic agencies in Delhi, said a release.
The charges will be same for two stations — Vishwavidyalaya and Patel Chowk — which already had higher charges compared to other stations, the release added.
