Emami Ltd’s retail chain, Frank Ross Pharmacy, has introduced a smartphone application for ordering medicines.
“This is the first time in India that a pharmacy chain has introduced this service,” the company said. “Our centralised home delivery centre can be called throughout the week.
Delivery will be made within four hours during business hours in Kolkata. We shall gradually introduce facilities such as prescription reminders and medical helpline to aid patients”, said Gautam Jatia, CEO of Frank Ross Pharmacy.
Frank Ross Pharmacy now runs 99 exclusive stores in West Bengal, Karnataka and Gujarat. Of these, 84 outlets are in West Bengal, with 64 in Kolkata alone.
In West Bengal, Frank Ross daily handles on an average 20,000 prescriptions and 400 home deliveries. Frank Ross privilege cardholders are entitled to get free home delivery, a prescription reminder service and free health check-up camps.
