The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has sent a fresh notice to the Trinamool Congress General Secretary, Subrata Bakshi, seeking details for the party’s expenditure and income. The notice has been sent in connection with the Saradha scam.
According to sources, the notices have been sent via “speed post”. A few days back, the central investigating agency had called up the Trinamool Bhavan (TMC headquarters) wanting to speak to Bakshi. He then, was out of town and was not able to take calls.
The CBI, sources said, is seeking clarity on an alleged mismatch between statements of party accounts filed with the Election Commission and bank account transfers during corresponding periods.
The agency had earlier sent a notice regarding the matter but it was addressed to the former General Secretary, Mukul Roy. The same notice is now being re-sent addressing Bakshi.
An official confirmation on the receipt of the notice is yet to come from the Trinamool Congress.
