Hyderabad turns pink for KCR’s mega public meeting

All roads in Telangana lead to Kongara Kalan, the venue of a broad-based meeting convened by TRS supremo and Telangana Chief Minister, Kalvakuntla Chandradekhar Rao.

The meeting hosted by the TRS chief, which is expected to draw about 25 lakh people, assumes importance as the TRS leader is expected to make major announcements, and may even hint at early polls.

With the Chief Minister convening a Cabinet meet on Sunday afternoon ahead of the mega public meeting, Pragathi Nivedana Sabha, there is s buzz in the air and speculation that he may announce his plans for the future, including his political direction.

In a show of solidarity, TRS leaders from all over the state have begun converging at the decked up venue, on bicycles, tractors, trucks, buses, personal vehicles and by other means. The TRS leadership, party members and its supporters have turned the Pearl City of Hyderabad into a Pink City, and all roads leading to the venue and the location itself sport a bright shade of pink.

Elaborate security and safety arrangements have been made at the venue, located on the outskirts of the metropolis. Political analysts are closely monitoring the developments and expect the Cabinet meet scheduled ahead of the public meeting, to take some major decisions, including the possibility of dissolving the Assembly, and recommending early polls.

During the meeting in the post-lunch period and towards evening the TRS chief, while outlining the major achievements of the state since its formation over four years ago, is also likely to announce sops and shower his Government's largess on the people, including the possibility of loan waivers.
