Chennai-based India Home Health Care (IHHC) has opened a centre here to offer a variety of services including geriatric, new-born post surgery, and other long-term medical care.

Announcing this at a press conference here on Tuesday, its co-founder and Managing Director V Thiyagarajan said the city had an equal number of youngsters and senior citizens, besides a large number of IT companies and was a potential market.

``There are also over 5.5 million non-resident Indians from AP and Telangana living in different parts of the world, some of whom can be potential customers,’’ he said. The Hyderabad centre currently has 25 staff.

The company, which is now present in eight cities in the country, is in expansion mode. ``We will be opening three more centres in Mysore, Visakhapatnam, and Coimbatore this year,’’ Thiyagarajan said. Each new centre will need an investment of Rs 50 lakh.

Incorporated in 2009, IHHC is one of the first players in the organised home healthcare market with a partnership with the US-based Bayada Home Healthcare.
