AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa today met Tamil Nadu governor K Rosaiah to stake claim to form the next government.

On Friday, AIADMK MLAs unanimously elected Jayalalithaa as their legislature party leader, a day after the party emerged victorious in the Assembly elections held on May 16.

Out of the 232 assembly constituencies that went to the polls, the AIADMK bagged 134 seats. The opposition DMK won 89 seats while Congress bagged eight and Indian Union Muslim League one. Polling was deferred at Thanjavur and Aravakuruchi constituencies till June 13.

Jayalalithaa will be sworn in on as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister for the fourth time on Monday just past noon at a function to be held at the University of Madras Auditorium.
