The public sector consultancy firm Kitco is exploring opportunities in the private sector in India and abroad.

“Emerging opportunities in the private sector have prompted us to look at this area, as leading corporate firms are seeking consultancies for their project expansions. Our strong engineering background and four decades of experience will help us provide value additions to private entrepreneurs,” Cyriac Davies, Managing Director, said.

Scaling up

“Most of our projects so far were mainly concentrated in the public sector. The ratio of our participation in public sector versus private sector was 80:20, which we intend to bring to 60:40,” he said.

The company has approached some leading corporate firms in the country to get empanelled in their lists for consultancy-related works. Kitco’s services can be extended not only in the engineering consultancy but in product marketing and financial services such as debt restructuring etc.

The amount of value addition will definitely find a prominent place in such consultancy works as far as the private sector is concerned, he added.

Kitco’s geographical expansion, he said, will help garner more revenue, as the company is aiming to become a ₹100-crore turnover firm in the next 2-3 years. It has been able to maintain a 10 per cent growth in its business in the last fiscal with the figure touching ₹44 crore.

Airport projects

“We are in the process of getting works for cost-effective design in airport-related infrastructure projects in West Asia and Africa as well as a joint venture partnership in Saudi Arabia,” Davies said, citing the traffic projections carried out by the company in the techno-feasibility of Cochin International Airport Ltd, which proved right in the initial years and subsequently excelled in big margins.

The company has also big plans for Kerala’s already booming startup climate with its one-year-old My Enterprise programme that had already rolled out some unique enterprises promoted by youngsters.
