Lok Sabha has been adjourned for the day following the strong protests and slogan shouting by opposition members of Parliament in the lower house.

The much anticipated discussion (under rule 193) on "alleged systemic regularities in the banking sector over the years and its impact on Indian economy" did not take place, although the Government said it was ready for such a discussion and that Finance Ministry Arun Jaitley was prepared to give a reply on the matter.

However, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the House for the day in the midst of slogan shouting and ruckus created by MPs after walking to the well of the lower house.
